NO SEX, NO ROLE IS NORMAL

Whenever the syndrome of No Sex, No Role is made mention of, the ideology of “give what you have to get what you want” comes to mind. It is obvious each one of us is capable of doing anything for someone to get a benefit or an undue advantage in return. “Everything in the world is about sex except sex. Sex is about power”. Therefore the illicit practice of warming directors and producers bed to get roles should not only be attached to the movie industry. It is in all sects of trade. But just that, that of the movie industry has become methodical.

Sequel to my article titled “Sex Scandal Hit The Movie Industry”, which sought to criticize people indulging into such dubious practices met a severe rebuff the from the public. The provoked views exceeded the supportive ones, hence, it tended me to believe that, many are they that benefit from these ill-sexual pleasures from their subjects. “Afterall, it's not rape but an agreed sexual act”; says one of the comments. At first I felt the need to fight solely for the desperate wannabes whom are mostly sexually exploited. But fortunately and unfortunately, the responses from my readers revealed to me that; many were displeased with my course and instead defended it as not only in film-making but a form of corruption trending in other professions likewise. These are mostly sexual advantages taken over ladies to offer them job opportunities, salary increment, promotions among others. In the hospitals; it's between doctors and nurses, in offices; it's between bosses and their secretaries, in higher institutions; it's between lecturers and female students, even in churches; it's between pastors and the female members.etc. So, for one to attribute such practice to only the movie industry is being selective.

In quest to seek the cause of this ugly lewd; my research indicated that both directors and producers on one side and the artiste on the other side contribute to the course.

A careful study of behaviours of wannabe artistes has proven that, they are rarely impatient when it comes to matters regarding their ability to become stars out of the blues. They are utterly ready to do anything to attain it without taking things into consideration. To my dismay, those that usually force themselves on the directors and producers are taken advantage of accordingly and are not even casted “walker-pass” roles. It's obvious they know to themselves they are not good enough for a role, yet, fight for it by blatantly offering themselves cheap to the film-makers to be used as wantoms.

In other times, it is those unprofessional film-makers who coax their actresses and get them into their beds, by promising them lead roles. They use a bit of experience to beat them; mostly in this format; “Do you know you're good? I want to help you, you're very potential though the industry is very competitive, but I'd make sure I'd help you. You must also be kind by giving me what I want, which is ………………”. After long thinking, the impatient actress would oblige since her stardom is at stake. These are the usual signs of such tricksters. They only use empty promises to get what they want.

Worse of it all, these actresses sometimes stoop low for even floor members of the production to have their share, all in the persistent pursuit for a dreaming stardom. These wanabes are so anxious and ignorant that they believe and do whatever a self-acclaimed movie-maker tells them, just like a sheep following its master to the abbatoir they are exploited.

As a result some actresses have already turned “industrial prostitutes” since they are just breaking every sphere of the industry with sex.

My word of advice as a film-maker is that; wannabe actresses must be patient in their chase of stardom. They must not force themselves on the industry men; if you're good player, you would surely be heard of, through hardwork as Nicki Minaj once said “I want people – especially, young girls to know that in life, nothing is going to be based on sex appeal. You've got to have something else to go with”. Keeping constant rehearsing and broadening one's scope about the industry would better give artistes sound judgment towards the job.
