23.09.2014 LISTEN

One of Ghana's leading interdenominational choirs, Stewards of Grace has launched its maiden single titled “Woye Ohene Ampa” to wit, “You are truly King”.

The launch was done live on Sweet Melodies 94.3FM on Founder's Day holiday, at 6pm. The full choir and leadership of the group were in the studios of Sweet Melodies to see the birthing of this maiden single, which is already being touted at a “true worship booster.”

The song, was composed by Horst Koranteng, who is a Deputy Director of the choir and a member of Ghana's leading acappella quartet of international repute, Alabaster Box.

It was led by the dynamic and skillful vocalists and worship leader, Priscilla Abredu in a live video and audio recording at the Accra International Conference Centre during the group's annual House of Worship (HOW) concert two years ago.

The live recording was done by no less a person than Ghana's own London-based internationally acclaimed musician and music producer, Ike d'Waveward. Extra tracks recording, mixing and mastering of the song were done at Big Beats studios in Mataheko, by the skillful and crafty hands of no musician, producer, engineer, song writer and singer KODA (Kofi Duah Antoh).

Spokesperson for the group, Samuel Dowuona, who is also leader of Alabaster Box said, during the launch on Sweet Melodies, that Stewards of Grace has, for more than a decade, consistently held its annual HOW on every Independent Day, March 6 th for free, leading worshipers into God's presence, in honor of His splendor and in appreciation of his goodness to Ghana.

“Over the years, we have done live ministrations of some of our original songs and worshipers have been demanding to have a recordings of those songs to take home but we did not feel the time was right yet until now,” he said.

Sammy said the group could not have begun from a better note than with the song “Wo ye Ohene ampa”, which acknowledges God as King and speaks to the truth that “it is not about us but all about Him and his majesty and holiness.”

He said the group is also working on the live video recording of the same song and that would be due for launch in a couple of weeks to give a booster to church worship.

Sammy said the launch of the maiden single is just the beginning of several other singles the group would be churning out in similar fashion in the coming months, as a prelude to the launch of its full album soon.

The song was released on various online channels for free live streaming and download at the same time it got first time airplay on Sweet Melodies during the Monday launch.

The online channels are Sound Cloud, Reverb Nation and Imperial Motive. It is also on Facebook.
