Friction To Follow Up On His Previous Reggae Hit ‘Life Is Not Easy’

An invite to play as the support act of Morgan Heritage in Holland, several festival bookings, award nominations, worldwide airplay; Friction experienced it all after releasing his single 'Life is not easy' about one year ago.

´The invite to be the support act of Morgan Heritage, when they performed in Holland as part of their European tour, was amazing and a very big honour', Friction says. 'And the three nominations 'Life is not easy' got on the Reggae and Dancehall Bass Awards last year, felt like a great recognition for my music'.

At the moment, Friction is based in Holland because of the shows on festivals he has there this year. Also, he is busy shooting the video for his next single, which will be a collaboration with international recording artist Casita.

'This song and the accompanying video will surprise a lot of people, both inside as outside the reggae scene', Friction says. 'It's different than what's out there now, and it's my aim to let it be on the same level, or even higher, than my previous single.'

Friction is planning to keep on releasing reggae music, alongside songs in other music styles. 'I love a lot of music styles, and I think that is the typical Friction sound; the mix of Reggae, Afropop and Hiplife I make. Some people know me as the first artist to rap in Hausa, some know me from the time I started VIP, some know me for my reggae music, some know me because of my live shows and some people know me for all of this together. And that's me; an artist who loves all these parts from music, and I'm always trying to develop myself in all of these areas'.
