Braa Mo Drops Debut Single Titled “Awure”

Ghana music industry looks more lucrative with the discovery of young talented, energetic and inspirational artistes. Ghana is yet to taste the richness in aesthetically exquisite music from the young Highlife/Afro-Pop songwriter and singer, Jibril Musa Tawiah Mohammed with Braa Mo as his showbiz name. Braa Mo, who has been working underground tirelessly on orchestration of Highlife/Afro-Pop fusion to produce an undisputed masterpiece.

The rendition of his Afro-Pop style of music demonstrates a vivid upliftment of the Ghana music industry through his master class debut single which he titles, 'Awure' produced by DD Thompson popularly known as 'DDT'. There is a clear indication of his awareness on the current trend genre admired by millions of Ghanaian with his combination of creativity and intellectualism plus professional variation on 'Awure' from other momentary artistes.

The rhythm and instrumentation of the song has authentic Ghanaian roots. 'Awure' basically talks about customary Islamic marriage but not restricted to Muslims alone. The tune of 'Awure' epitomizes the inevitable typical Hiplife flavour many Ghanaian music-lovers are exposed to. It's a true reflection of African music genuity with the mixture of 'Dondo' drums.

Most disc-jockeys (DJs) and sound engineers who have had the opportunity to listen to 'Awure' have unexpectedly voted a massive thumbs-up for the track and a few journalists have tipped it to top all awure occasional songs especially Awure ceremonies.

I can boldly predict that, 'Awure' has arrived to patch all the potholes on all Ghanaian ceremonial songs. In view of the prospect that Braa Mo holds in the Mamobi-Nima community, his overwhelmly welcomed debut single will advocate his career on a smoothness level.

Expressing his view on 'Awure', Braa Mo noted: 'Well I couldn't help but to notice that every weekend in almost every Zongo community in Accra and other cities and towns across Ghana there is always an "Awure" going on. I think it is a beautiful occasion and a memorable one too. So I decided to use the theme to write a song to help make it even a more memorable event'

He continued, 'To me, Awure is a significant ceremonial occasion that is integral to Islamic culture and the world at large. It's only befitting that a song be made for such occasion.'

'Fans should expect more good music. I have a song titled "Fine Fine Girl" which is actually a collaboration with Jay Ghartey. It's a party song that everyone will enjoy dancing to. Fans should expect it's release this summer', he assured his fans.
