Keitta leaves Big brother Stargame - And Then There Were Seven

Ghana's Keitta and Kenya's Alex were evicted from M-Net's Big Brother StarGame last night (22 July on DStv Channel 197 & 198 at 20:00 CAT), leaving 7 housemates to battle it out over the final 14 days for the USD300 000 prize.

Keitta didn't receive a single nomination last week, but found himself up for eviction after Head of House Kyle saved Keagan and put the Ghanaian up instead.

2011 Big Brother Amplified alumnus Lomwe & Zeus rocked the stage with their collaboration Dancing Shoes as DJ Davies from Harare's 99.3 Power FM kept the studio audience on their toes during ad breaks.

This week saw the housemates winning the Coca Cola “A Billion Reasons to Believe in Africa” wager, Head of House Kyle enjoying bossing his housemates around and Wati picking up a crucial Head of House task win, heading into the final stretch.

IK then took viewers into the house for Head of House Kyle to reveal his 'Save and Replace' decision to the housemates. “This is perhaps the hardest decision I had to make,” the Ugandan told them. “I had three choices and all of them are very close to my heart. Five people were up, I had to save one, it was hard. Keagan, I saved you, the person I replaced him with, the math in my head told me he was going to stay... Keitta, I'm sorry”.

As Keitta packed his bags, viewers got to hear from last week's evictee, pop princess Goldie. She said she had looked forward to the tasks each week, as they gave her something to think about and something to do every week. She enjoyed cooking, trying something new, dressing up, and competing for the Head of House title. “I can't define my relationship with Prezzo but I do know that in the house I came to care for him very much,” she said. “He was the closest person to me in the house. I never saw any of these things that people outside saw, I'm almost not believing it somewhat, but I hold no grudges against him, I still think he's a great individual and at the end of the day, such is life - c'est la vie”.

The Sizwe Ntsaluba Gobodo auditor then joined IK on stage to deliver the envelope with the verified voting results for this week. IK asked the nominated housemates to stand, before immediately letting Wati, then Lady May, off the eviction hook.

“Keitta this is the second time someone has put you up for eviction in someone else's place and last time you survived. This time you didn't survive. Please leave the house...” said IK. When the Ghanaian joined IK on stage he chatted about how he had come out of his shell once girlfriend Mildred had been evicted. “You said if you had the chance to do it all over again you wouldn't bring a girlfriend into the house, tell us about that?” asked IK mischievously. “You need to know your partner very well and I don't think I knew her that well – I don't think I knew her 100% so I think the next time I bring my girl to the house I'll need to know her 100%,” was Keitta's diplomatic reply.

Prezzo and Alex still had to learn their fate, so IK returned to the house and delivered the news that another housemate would be evicted right away. “I'm back for another eviction. The seventh housemate to leave Upville is… Alex. You are going home tonight, Prezzo you're safe,” IK told them. As Alex said his goodbyes, Zeus and Lomwe returned with Double Wowza.

When Alex arrived on stage, IK asked him why he had continued to nominate his countryman Prezzo. ”He wasn't social, he was up tight, I thought I'd nominate him,” Alex told him. “Do you have the same taste in women as your brother?” asked IK. “Seriously, I have a different taste!” said Alex with a laugh. “So Tamara's more your kind of person then?” IK pressed. “Exactly!” said the Kenyan. IK quizzed Alex about his plans now that he had been evicted, and he told Africa he would be finishing his studies and then look to start his own business. He said he thought Lady May would win Big Brother StarGame “though I have no idea why because she ain't entertaining at all”.
