
Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie has been nominated for Best International Act (Africa) in the upcoming BET Awards scheduled for the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, July 2.
He was nominated alongside Nigeria's Wizkid and Iceprince, Kenya's Camp Mulla, Mali's Mokobe and South Africa's Lira.
In 2011, Nigeria's 2face and Dbanj were joint winners of the award category.
Rapper Kanye West earned the most nominations with seven nods, six of which came from his ' Watch the Throne' collaboration with Jay-Z, who earned five nominations himself. Jay-Z's wife and mother of 4-month-old daughter Blue Ivy, Beyonce, earned the second highest nominations with six.
The 2012 BET Awards will be hosted by Samuel L. Jackson and the likes of Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj are confirmed to perform at the show.
