Veteran highlife musician Nana Kwame Ampadu has announced that all is set for the release of his latest album onto the market.
He is considered one of Ghana's most distinguished highlife composers and is deemed to have contributed immensely toward the growth of music in Ghana. Nana's songs are simple, however, they tend to be rich in detail, poetry, melody and rhytmn. Nana Ampadu has indicated that although he has been away from the main stream music scene for some time, he has been working behind closed doors on several projects and on his latest album. The album has 'Mmofra Monko Besa Npayin' as its title track. Songs on Nana's current album are simply irresistible as anyone who listens will take to moving to the rhythm of the music in appreciation of its beauty.
True to his electrifying style of play, Nana Ampadu made excellent use of electric guitars and synthesizers and achieved such a perfect harmonization with his vocalists that the voices seem to merge into a single, sonorous rendition; a seamless appraisal of the subject in focus.
The vocal styles often impose deep cultural influences, a medley of the old and the modern, all blending to produce a masterpiece which will be unrivalled for some time to come. Nana Ampadu noted that despite his absence from the music scene, he has been following events carefully.
He said, 'I have been doing a lot of research as well as reading newspapers to get informed on what is happening in the music industry, as well the country as a whole'. He commended DAILY GUIDE for being one of the well-established media outfits which has been accurate in its reportage, adding 'the designing, layout and printing is very good and it attracts me a lot. I buy the paper because of its quality news including sports and entertainment.
'A number of friends and close associates I have spoken with have all recommended the paper and always happy reading it. I have never come across a retraction of a story in the paper. This makes the paper unique. Most people including myself take a serious look at the paper's printing quality'.
Nana is also the trainer in the highlife category of TV3's reality show Mentor Season 5. Besides his works in the studios, Nana is working on a number of projects in some parts of the country as well as training some upcoming musicians.
