Accra, November 23, 2009 – Talk about the flashy, the classy, the crazy, the old, the latest, the coolest or any other description for a car and you would not miss it at the YFM Weekend Groove Car Wash at the Accra Mall. It was a spectacular event as hundreds of drivers with various make of cars buzzed in at the Accra Mall over the weekend for an intriguing car wash exercise. The special Weekend Groove Car Wash event was organized by Y107.7FM, the official frequency for the young and the young at heart to raise funds for the Children's Ward of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The first ever car wash event pulled a lot of enthusiasts from the capital city of Accra who patronized the event with different make and models of vehicles including cars and sophisticated motor bikes. To add to the excitement and flavour of the occasion, there were some cool prizes given away to the oldest, the coolest and the craziest cars.

The peak of the day was realized when young and handsome Teddy-Pain pulled in with his Citron which was adjudged the craziest car. The crowd rushed in on him to catch some quick photographs with the vintage car. The beetle looking car according to T-Pain was made in the 1830s but has been in Ghana for about 37 years.

It was not just an ordinary car washing event as the day was also pumped up with lots of electrifying hot music by YFM's skillful DJs with some wild dancing moves by beautiful models.

“I'm very excited about this event. I can't believe we are having this in Ghana. YFM is doing a great job and I'm looking forward to the car wash from time to time. This is really exciting, I did have a great time” says enthusiastic Ayelley who also pulled in her car for a shine.

The best side attraction was the wild car wash moves by the trendy models who gave the dirty cars a touch of spark and made the cars shine like they were just brought fresh from the garages.

The event also attracted personalities like Mr. Akwasi Agyeman, CEO of Global Media Alliance Broadcasting Company (GMABC) and Mr. Israel Laryea of Joy FM.

The YFM Weekend Groove Car Wash is to become an annual event where Ghana's cars will be mobilized and given a clean touch by beautiful models as well as a day that will offer drivers and the general public a unique opportunity to socialize and enjoy a great moment in a friendly environment.

Part of the proceeds from the car wash event will be donated to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in support of the Children's ward of the hospital later this week.
