The father of Jordan Chandler, a boy who accused Michael Jackson of child molestation, has committed suicide.
Evan Chandler, 65, was found dead in his apartment in New Jersey after shooting himself in the head. Police said there was no suicide note.
In 1993, Mr Chandler, a former dentist, accused Jackson on behalf of his then-13-year-old son.
Mr Chandler and his son brought a civil lawsuit against Jackson who reportedly settled the case out of court for $20 million (£12 million,) although he always denied wrongdoing.
Both parties signed a confidentiality agreement not tot talk about the case but in 1996 Mr Chandler filed a $60 million (£37.5 million) suit against Jackson and his then wife Lisa Marie Presley.
It was claimed that they breached the agreement by talking about the case on television. The lawsuit was dismissed three years later.
Jordan Chandler is now 29 and has never spoken publicly about the allegations.
In 2005 Jackson was cleared by a jury after another boy, Gavin Arvizo, alleged he had been molested at the singer's Neverland ranch.
Jackson died in June this year of a drug overdose at the age of 50, His personal doctor, Dr Conrad Murray, is the focus of a police investigation.

Evan Chandler should have done this 16 years ago. He forced his son to lie and in so doing, he destroyed a thoroughly and genuinely GOOD man in Michael Jackson. Since Michael's death, Jordan has since admitted that he lied and that his father made him do it but sadly, very sadly, it's all too late for Michael. Evan Chandler was a liar and a greedy liar that. The weight of a guilty conscience obviously got too much for this evil man. May he NEVER EVER rest in peace. Time for Jordan to apologise to the Jackson family, Michael's three beloved children and the rest of the world otherwise the same guilty conscience will get the better of him too. RIP Michael Jackson. Greatly loved and missed. ALWAYS. This poor man was totally misunderstood, misjudged and very much maligned. Shame on ALL the people who doubted him.

got what he deserved. Justice always comes sooner or later. Although a little too late for Michael to witness this id**t bas*a*d son of a b***h's end. Evan Chandler thought he won big time but time or history showed us he was a big loser. To hear he killed himself was a huge vindication for those people who have suffered on the hands of greedy and money extortionist. For greedy people it is a big lesson for you to learn. So becareful justice always prevails sooner or later specailly when you least expected it will come and get you. I pray that Martin Bashir will be the next person to have his payday for what he had done to Michael Jackon. And many more justice to come for others who have MJs blood on their hands.
