NEW: Ghana Tourist Villas offers an unforgettable holiday and business experience in Accra.
After picking the Best African Actress award at the 5 Continent Academy Award in New York earlier this year, Ghana's screen goddess Nadia Buari has done it again.
In the presence of a high-powered audience, including Nigeria's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom H.E Dr Dalhuta Tafaida, who filled the prestigious Troxy Hotel in London, the pretty, fair-skinned Ghanaian actress whirled past a strong line-up of nominees to become the continent's Best African Supporting Actress for the year 2009.
This was at the African Film Festival and Academy Awards (ZAFAA 2009) held last two weeks (October 23) in London, to promote professionalism and healthy competition among artistes and other stakeholders in the continent's art industry.
The event, organised by the London-based Nollywood Entertainment Limited, nominated Nadia for the award for her supporting role in the film Hidden Treasure.
After intense scrutiny and profound deliberation by the award's selection committee, Nadia was adjudged deserving of the award, ahead of her other competing nominees. She was presented with a ZAFAA Trophy which was received on her behalf by Nollywood star Emeka Ike.
Other award categories included the Best Producer and Director, Indigenous Best African TV station in UK, Best Upcoming Actress in UK and the Best Child Actor, among others.
