The French Embassy, in association with the Ministry of Chieftaincy and Culture, The Ministry of Tourism, UNESCO, Culturesfrance and Contemporary African Music Promotions (CAMP), announce the launch of the High Vibes Festival
at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel on Friday, 23rd October, 209 at 5pm.
This year's High Vibes Festival will be the inaugural edition of this annual musical event, initiated by the French Embassy, national and international institutions and the corporate sponsorship of Coca Cola.
With media partners including Metro Tv, the Graphic Communications Group and Multi Media Broadcasting Company, this promises to be the musical event of the year and to anchor Accra durably on the international cultural scene.
Hosting highly recognized High life and hip life Ghanaian musicians, High Vibes Festival will also feature artists from 6 other African countries including Guinea, Congo, Benin, Nigeria, Senegal and Liberia.
The Festival takes off on Thursday, 12th November, 2009 with a symposium on Highlife at the National Theatre. On that same day and on Friday, there will be 2 free shows at Circle Holy Gardens. The festival will move to the National Theatre for a VIP night on Saturday, 14th November, 2009. The festival climaxes with a final show at the La Pleasure beach on Sunday, 15th November, 2009.
