A Lagos High Court, this morning, ordered that ex-beauty queen, Ibinabo Fiberesima, be brought before her irrespective of her health status, as she once again failed to appear before the court to defend her application for stay of execution, which she had filed earlier.
The court had earlier sentenced Ibinabo to five years imprisonment without an option of fine, having found her guilty of murder through reckless and dangerous driving. The convict, who was given an option of N100,000 fine at the trial magistrate's court, was sentenced by Justice Deborah Oluwayemi, after the Lagos state government had appealed the lower court's judgment.
But at the mention of her application for stay of execution of the judgment last Thursday, her lawyer informed the court that Ibinabo was hospitalised in a Port Harcourt hospital. The counsel brought a sick report to buttress his claim. However, Justice Oluwayemi rejected the medical report and ordered the ex-beauty queen to appear before her. She said her application for stay of execution would not be considered until she personally appeared before her. Her lawyer, Mr. Ijebu Ode Agbarawu, told the court this morning, that the convict was still receiving treatment in the Port Harcourt hospital.
Delivering her ruling this morning, Justice Oluwayemi ordered that a subpoena be issued on Dr. G. Harris of Braith-Waite Hospital, Port Harcourt, who signed the medical report sent to the court last Thursday. She ordered that Ibinabo must be produced in court at the next adjournment date. The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP), Lagos state, Mrs. Ayo Odugbesan, aligned herself with the court. Thereafter, Justice Oluwayemi adjourned till 30 April, for further hearing. Why are the making this woman a scape goat. The damage is done already.
She did not murdered the deceased by any weapon,it was an accident.
Why is that when a case affected the who is who and people who has power, they tend to forget about FORGIVENESS.
I lost my junior brother in 1997 due to a non challant attitude of a medical doctor, but my father insisted that we must not sue the hospital as that will never bring his son back.
What a heart of gold from a God fearing man.
Why are they making a fuss over this, how many people are killed on our road daily. Lagos-Ibadan road especially, ive never heard abt anyone being taken to court.
What the HECK.
The deceased family should just go and sit down and stop showing off their wealth.
Now, im getting angry,
Yoruba says, eebu alo ni tahun, tabo ni tana e...someone help me to translate

If father your did not press charges when your brother was killed in a hospital, that was his choice. but that does not mean everyone whose love one is killed by another person should walk away if as nothing happen. justice must always prevail no matter what. Ibinabo accidentally killed a doctor. Did she ever find it in heart to settle the matter out with family of the deceased? I bet she did not. if she did, none this would been happening. first of all, the fine she paid was for breaking the rules not for killing the doctor.

hello fellow nigerians i think this judge has some other motive in this matter while all this heat the damage has been done and this will not bring DR GIWA back i do sympatise with the decease family amd may God heal them of the great loss and you judge be carefree even if she has to go to jail 5 yrs will be over and the dead will not come back to life at all Ibinabo did not do this intentionally so i dont know what the judge is driving at thinking the first judge did not do his/her job well lets see what your gains will be when Ibinabo comes out of prison .judge not its assigned we will all die one day and it can come anyway, anytime.may DR GIWA'S soul rest in peace.
