Pictures & Moments from the Ife Runway Fashion Week season 3

The Ife Runway Fashion Week started off as a student initiative which has now grown into one of the most professionally organized student fashion shows in Nigeria. This year, in order to add a new dimension to the production, the organisers added a lot of spice to make the show more beautiful. Notably are the Ife runway brand ambassadors who are students at the Obafemi Awolowo University. Their job like other brand ambassadors is to provide goodwill for the fashion week and take it to the grass root student community.

The Ife Runway Fashion Week season 3 (IRFW 3) held between the 27th- 29th January 2015 at the Obafemi Awolowo University. The Fashion week recorded over 1000 buyers, guests and fashionistas. IRFW is organized by Blacknbold fashion house; the organizers of the Nigerian student fashion and design week. The Week commenced with an exhibition that lasted for two days. The aim of the exhibition was to provide an arena for student sellers while producing a conducive environment for buying and selling. The show proper held on Thursday the 29th of January at the Awo Varsity, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile- Ife.

The event started at 9pm with Uncle Toonz and Jennifer on the red carpet. The fashion show itself was hosted by popular OAP Deji Crown FM and the beautiful Ore Ajewole. The fashion show announced the presence of 9 new designers to the Nigerian fashion scene, the designers include: Theresa Reebs, Stephmarc Fashion Creations, SheyeOladejo, Maindrag Demeanor, Morete, Love'N'Saints Fashion House, JKC, Fabulous Creation, and winners from The Collection contest. These designers with their exquisite designs wowed the crowd. It was so much creativity and professionalism from a crowd whose bulk are students. Each designer had a minimum of 10 outfits and a maximum of 15 per set. From edgy runway couture to casual go to wears, evening dresses, formal wears, no class of outfit was left wanton. Audiences were on their toes to the end of the show.

Nigerian top super songstress, the beautiful Seyi Shay was a guest at the show. The irawo crooner no doubt added more life and class to the event. Also present was Mr Sola Oyebade; CEO Mahogany international and the producer of Africa Fashion Week London and a host of other top notch fashion shows. Popular Nollywood actor Yinka Salawu was also present. The campus was also overwhelmed with apprehension as the Ife runway fashion show had earlier taken a one year hiatus. The wait was worth it after all as the fashion show was sold out.

The Most creative designer of the fashion show Miss Sheye Oladejo creative director of SheyeOladejo, a 500 Level Computer science and engineering student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, alongside the runners up; Miss Ijiwoye Ijidolapo 300Level Law Student of OAU, the creative director of Theresa Reebs and Mr Tobi Idowu creative director of Maindrag Demeanor, 200 Level Sociology student of the University will be showcasing at the Nigerian Student Fashion And Design Week 2015.
