She Did Not Learn, She Thought She Did III

26.11.2014 LISTEN
By Mansoh George Kweku Afriyie

Welcome brother. Oh why that look on your face? What did your senior brother tell you? I am here with your lovely mother and only want to talk to you like we did with your senior brother. You see, the pain you also make your mother go through is quite disturbing. Sit with me, lets listen to mother.

“Son, I am old now, there is very little I can do to change the past. My joy and hope is having you as the future. My words and the little wisdom is all that I have left. Sorry for failing in the early stages of life. The effects on you I apologize for. Kindly do me a favour, don't let my life be a hindrance to the best in life you can and deserve to have. You senior brother is also becoming of age now and his company of “friends” may never let him change. Please don't be like us; myself and your brother. I have seen pain and slept with sorrow. Just take this advice. When it's your turn to take charge of the few things left behind, never befriend any of your brothers friends.

As much as you can, define a new path. What do I mean by that? Ok this is it, if you think they are his friends because they lend him monies to start projects he never finishes, please think again. It's just a way to keep him blinded to the fact that he can survive and do greater things the day he stops borrowing and comes out of debt. Why would they let him keep all the gold and other reserves in their homes, having nothing in his home and then turn to be the “angles” saving a dying friend?

All I want you to do is to change from that. When your time comes, keep the little gold and wealth you have left. Find people of your caliber who can help you think. Decide what is good for you and do what is good for you. It's better to try and fail than pride yourself with a friend's success, my son.

Do you want to be well fed slave, or a hungry free man? I am telling you all these because if there is anything I regret most, it's a truth I hid from you and your brother because I was afraid to fail. Truth is, when they left, they stole as much of our resources as they could and left us with an accent”.
