Confronting Your Fears
11.03.2014 LISTEN

“Put an eagle in a cage and it will bite the bars whether they are of iron or gold.” As Isaiah said in Isaiah 41:10; Fear not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, yea, I will help thee, yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. FEAR simply means- False Evidence Appearing Real. For the purpose of this article there are four major fears I will espouse.

THE FEAR OF CRITICISM
It is important to know that every day, we face the fear of what people think about us but not what the lord says or our own decisions of our lives. If you are confident and well secured with your actions then you will not fear people's criticism. The average Christians are satisfied with the things that sustain them while few are not satisfied with the little but want to earn more and live a fulfilled live. The reason is they just don't want to worry and hurt anybody. Yes they always want seek the acceptance and validation of everyone.

THE FEAR OF WRONG DECISIONS
Again, we fear making wrong decision whereas we can learn from our mistakes and use that as a stepping stone for the good lives we wished for. This negative attitude has caused many to lose great opportunities and brought them into the state on indecision. Unfortunately, most people are fearful of missing God while God is ready to lead us in our decisions. Remember, it is our decisions and not conditions that make us. Always remember to make your decisions based on God's word and trust the leadings of the Holy Spirit.

THE FEAR OF CHANGE
We fear change, whereas changing our negatives ways will do better things for our lives as Christians. As the lord sacrificed His only son for our sins inasmuch as we also have to sacrifice certain ways in our lives for the best. Maybe all that you need to succeed today is to change that way of dressing, that friend who discourages and draws you into sin. If you change the way you spent all your time on social media and read or concentrate on your books, you will become that global icon you dream of.

THE FEAR THAT YOU ARE NOT READY
I strongly believe that, readiness is highly overrated. A lot of young men and women in our generation are so perfection –oriented that they always ignore their passion. Sometimes we tend to prepare so much that we often miss out on things because we thought we were not ready. But here's the secret — readiness is really nothing more than a concept. It's so subjective that you can actually make it all up. Because, who really decides when you're ready or what exactly being ready even means?

The fact is no one. Microsoft started with Windows 7, came up with Windows 8 and now Windows 8.1, and each of them was an upgraded version of the later. Why didn't Bill Gates wait to be ready for the best Windows 8.1? It is the process that prepares you and not the waiting. The only thing to fear is fear itself, so, today I encourage you to rise up, get started and keep going. Your bright future waits.
