Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has been publicly called out by the Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) for mocking fellow musician Stonebwoy's disability in a viral video.

In a strongly worded press statement, the GSPD condemned Shatta Wale's "primitive statement" against Stonebwoy in which he said "You are a bad person that is why God made you a disabled person, you are a disabled person don't try and fight an able person."

National President of the GSPD, Mathew Annor Kodom, stated that this comment should not have come from a high-profile celebrity like Shatta Wale.

“This is an act of irresponsibility and this should be condemned by all," said Kodom.

The society demanded that Shatta Wale retract the derogatory statement, remove the offending video from social media, and issue a public apology to persons with disabilities in Ghana.

"Using a person's disability to mock him or her or making derogatory remarks about a person's disability is a punishable offence by law, refer to the Disability Act 715," said the GSPD statement.

The rivalry between the two dancehall artists have been ongoing for some time now.

It appeared to have died down following their gun-wielding clash at the 2019 Ghana Music Awards.

However, Shatta Wale has picked it up once again following the Stonebwoy’s absence at a Salla Festival in Accra last weekend.
