The Ghana chapter of the world renowned music service organization, the Percussive Arts Society in collaboration with a number of Ghanaian non-profits are hosting it's first section of its Day of Percussion dubbed KPANLOGO for Peace at Cape Coast from September 1-3rd, 2012.

KPANLOGO FOR PEACE as an arts theme has been used for over 4 years and it reflects Ghana's need for absolute peace in its democratic discourse. It's choice is very symbolic rather than 2012 is an election year in Ghana;Tolerance to opposing views and Peaceful campaigns are highly needed during the pre and post electioneering time. KPANLOGO FOR PEACE as a theme link for our DOP is to make our programme relevant to our nation's situational needs and to reflect on, and drive home the importance and the power of percussion in advocating and calling for peace in Ghana during this critical time of our nation's political history.

The Ghana Percussive Arts Society is the first West African chapter of the world famous music service organisation,the Percussive Arts Society.

It is dedicated to researching and promoting of percussive arts culture in Ghana. The GPAS is an open membership organisation and it organises percussive related events as well as hosts annual Days of Percussion events which brings performers from all over Ghana and beyond. The goals of these programmes are to bring drum enthusiasts together to share the arts,network,inspire creativity,create awareness about the work of PAS and help to preserve and promote percussion.

The event which is being incorporated into the Oguaa Fetu Afahye promises to be very exciting, educational and relevant. Many community groups have confirmed their participation. Among the groups are Africussion Drum and Dance Company from Accra,Etsii Korowa Drum and Dance Ensemble, Obrumankoma Traditionals,Ebibiman, Nananom, Borborfantse Fontonfrom Group,Kwaanan and the Kyidom Drummers,Ankaakor Roman Catholic Brass Band and Akwaakrom Abele group.

Other sponsors of the programme are the Centre for Human Development and Social Change,Ghana; OBAATANPA International and the International Centre for African Culture and Arts.
