Dome-Kwabenya ready to spearhead NPP's victory in 2016 - Adwoa Safo
13.04.2015 LISTEN

The Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, says her constituency is prepared to spearhead the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) quest for power in 2016 when the general elections would be held.

The MP said the constituents would leave no stone unturned to ensure that their objective is achieved.

According to her, just like they did in the previous election, her constituents have resolved to fight and expose any election fraud, irregularities, and malpractices, believing that their plan when well executed, would win power for the NPP, which would see the party's flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo, becoming the next president of the land.

The legislator said this last Thursday when she picked her nomination forms at the party's constituency office to once again, contest the parliamentary primaries scheduled for May, 2015.

Dome-Kwabenya became the central point of reference for the NPP in the 2012 elections as the party sought a court action to overturn the verdict of the Electoral Commission that saw the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and President John Dramani Mahama retaining power, following allegations of massive electoral malpractices, irregularities and fraud.

Their commitment, she argued, would be strengthened while they map out new strategies that will ensure victory for the party in the 2016 elections.

To Ms. Safo, for the over two years that she has been in Parliament, she has been able to push for a lot of developmental projects in her area including the construction of a maternity clinic at Haatso, distribution 150 streetlights to lighten the community to fight crime, and the construction ten (10) mechanized boreholes at a cost of GH₵250,000.00.

Furthermore, she has set up and provided scholarship schemes to promote girl child education and supported needy but brilliant students in the constituency, lobby for the re-construction of the Dome market as well as the construction of a Senior High School, which she said is in the pipeline.

A week prior to picking her nomination forms, the law maker also donated six motorbikes to the Dome-Kwabenya District Police Command to facilitate their work in maintaining law and order in the constituency.

The First Vice-Chairman of the NPP in the constituency, Jacob Kwabena Ameyaw, presenting the nomination forms to the MP, decried the use of dirty campaigns in the constituency and urged the legislator to remain disciplined and decorous as she has always been as she seeks for the peoples' mandate to lead them once again.
