Minority Leader in Parliament Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu  has warned the New Patriotic Party (NPP) risks further polarisation if divisive comments in the party continue.

Addressing the Ashanti Regional Executives of the party as part of a tour by lead contender in the party's flagbearer race, Nana Akufo-Addo, the Minority Leader said unity within the party is waning.

Nana Akufo-Addo  was touring the Ashanti Region to thank the executives for their support during the August 31 primaries.

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu said intolerance in the party which is fuelled by negative comments by supporters of the candidates for the October 18 National Delegates Conference threatens the party's unity.

The October conference will select a presidential candidate for the party in the 2016 general elections from three aspirants – Nana Akufo-Addo, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen and Francis Addai Nimoh.

Infighting and bickering within the party in recent times have been attributed mainly to perceived divisions along the camps of Akufo-Addo and Alan Kyerematen.
