Former Black Stars coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor, has advised Ghana's top clubs, Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, to exercise patience with their coaches.

Speaking to Graphic Sports, Akonnor stressed the importance of allowing coaches enough time to implement their strategies and philosophies.

He noted that while both clubs are result-oriented, it's essential to understand that building a successful team takes time.

"Patience is always good, but they are kind of result-oriented, so they don't take their time," Akonnor remarked. "If you hire a coach, you should have understood his approach before bringing him on board. If results don't immediately follow, you need to give him some time."

While acknowledging the pressure to dismiss coaches for poor results, Akonnor cautioned against hasty decisions and advocated for a more measured evaluation of a coach's performance.

He urged Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko to balance accountability with patience, emphasizing the importance of supporting the coach's vision for the team.

"Management must have a long-term vision for the team, but for clubs like Hearts and Kotoko, there's a lot of emphasis on immediate results," Akonnor said. "However, if management understands the coach's direction and believes it will yield results in the long run, they must be patient unless there's a significant change in direction."
