May 13: Cedi sells at GHS14.27 to $1, GHS13.68 on BoG interbank

The Ghanaian cedi has depreciated against the US dollar, declining further by 5 pesewas on the buying rates and by 3 pesewas in the selling value.

The buying rate is now GHS13.76, while the selling rate is also being offered at GHS14.27 on Monday, May 13, 2024.

This is based on data provided by Cedirates.com, a well-known Ghanaian website for currency and fuel updates.

The Cedi is trading at GHS13.67 on purchasing rate and GHS13.68 selling price at interbank rates against the US dollar.

Some prominent currency bureaus such as AfriSwap, is currently purchasing for GHS14.50 and selling at GHS14.80.

In comparison to the rates on Saturday, the British Pound Sterling increased by 21 pesewas in value on the buying rate and by 7 pesewas on the selling rate against the Cedi.

The buying rate and selling rate of the British Pound Sterling are, on average, GHS17.16 and GHS17.94, respectively.

The Euro has also increased in value by 4 pesewas on the buying rate and by 7 pesewas in selling value against the cedi.

The purchasing and selling rates for the euro are GHS14.71 and GHS15.43, respectively.

The selling price of the pound sterling on the Bank of Ghana interbank market is GHS17.12, 2 pesewas rise from the previous rates.

The euro is currently selling at GHS14.74 on the interbank market, a 1 pesewa rise from the previous rates.

Through Afriex, people can send money to Ghana from the US or the UK at GHS13.87 respectively, for each dollar.

The money transfer site is offering buying rates of GHS17.39 for the British Pound.

On the euro rate on Monday, Afriex is selling GHS14.94 for €1.

For those who will be renewing their Netflix, Spotify or Apple Music subscriptions through Visa and Mastercard, both payment processors are offering a US dollar for GHS15.06 and GHS14.98, respectively.
