By Young Pioneers Movement

The Young Pioneers Movement (YPM), an active group made up of youth who are scattered across the three constituencies in Ga South Municipal in the Greater Accra Region, wishes to file this press statement.

On Tuesday 14th February, 2016 the Acting General Secretary of our great party, Mr. John Boadu said "in order to be appointed as Metropolitan Municipal District Chief Executives in the Akufo-Addo government, loyalty to the party is key". The group supports this statement.

The victory of the NPP in the 2016 general elections, largely depended on Party members who supported the course of the party wholeheartedly. By extension they were loyal to the course of the party in its quest to secure power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Prior to the 2016 general elections, the Greater Accra Regional branch of the NPP engaged the three constituencies; Weija-Gbawe, Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro and Obom Domeabra to sign a performance contract. This performance contract which set target was to be achieved by the three constituencies that signed it.

At the end of polls, Weija-Gbawe constituency pulled the highest vote for both presidential and parliamentary, therefore by extension, the leadership of the constituency have a say as to who becomes the MCE for Ga South Municipal.

The Ga South Municipal Assembly needs someone who is loyal to the party to support the three MPs for Weija-Gbawe, Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro and Obom Domebra constituency to work hard to provide the needed infrastructural and human development which are components of good governance to the good people of the Assembly.

Mr. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, the First Vice Chairman of Weija Gbawe constituency of the NPP is the perfect name that comes in mind when the issue of loyalty is mentioned. As the campaign manger for the 2016 general elections, he was committed to the course of our victory. Our victory in the 2016 general elections was his primary concern.

Aside being committed and loyal to our great party, he is a development oriented person and has good human relations with the traditional rulers and all manner of persons in the Assembly.

YPM wishes to state unequivocally that Mr. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor deserves to be given the nod as the MCE for Ga South Municipal Ato continue his good work and also partner the party to deliver on all promises made to make our second bid in the presidential and parliamentary elections in 2020 a success.

Thank you.
