Former Black Stars attacker, Nii Odartey Lamptey has advised Atletico Madrid superstar Thomas Teye Partey to stay in Spain despite strong interest from English Clubs.
The 26-year-old midfielder has been at the center of transfer talks for the past month with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United in the race to secure his signature.
According to Odartey Lamptey, it will be better for Thomas Partey to stay put in Spain rather than moving to England or Italy.
“For me, I will say he [Thomas Partey] should stay in Spain. For now, there is money involved but his club can equally pay him well. When it comes to football I will not advise him to move to Italy or England”, the Anderlecht great said in an interview on Monday.
Odartey Lamptey added, “Even if he will want to move he should move to a club in Spain but not to another country. With his style of play, he can play there for a very long time and excel”.
Besides Manchester United and Arsenal, Thomas Partey is also said to be wanted by Juventus, Inter Milan, as well as PSG.
He has been presented with a contract extension at Atletico Madrid that will see his release clause doubling from 50 Million Euros to 100 Million Euros while also earning more money.
