Ghana and Racing Strasbourg striker, Majeed Warris has expressed disappointment to the cancelation of the 2019/2020 French Ligue 1 season despite insisting that it was the right thing to do.

The forward secured a transfer from Portuguese side FC Porto to Strasbourg in the winter transfer window where he committed to a two-year contract.

The 28-year-old quickly settled and started banging in the goals only for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis to cause the suspension of the season.

Following months of monitoring the situation on the ground, French authorities announced yesterday that the football season has been canceled due to the Covid-19 crisis.

Speaking to Adom TV on the decision, Majeed Warris described it as disappointing while indicating that it was the right thing to do to protect lives.

“It is very disappointing to be honest because it has been decided that we will not continue the season but if you look at the other aspects, I believe that it is an important thing that they did it because if you look at what has happened abroad, people are losing their loved ones and families so it has destroyed everything. If you look at the safety side, I think it is the right thing”, the forward noted.

Majeed Warris made 7 appearances for Racing Strasbourg in total as he scored 2 times and provided 1 assist as well.
