Black Stars Head Coach CK Akonnor Finally Pens 2-Year Contract
Recently appointed head coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, Charles Kwablan Akonnor has finally inked a 2-year contract with the Ministry of Sports through the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Though the head of the technical team of the Ghana national team was appointed by the GFA, he will be receiving his monthly salary from the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture.
It can be recalled that reports in the last couple of months had indicated that Coach CK Akonnor had been offered a contract that would see him earn $20,000 at the end of every month.
Following careful checks with his lawyers, the gaffer according to Kumasi-based Fox FM has agreed and signed the 2-year contract.
The former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko head coach is taking charge of the Black Stars after replacing experienced gaffer Coach James Kwesi Appiah.
Coach CK Akonnor has been mandated to qualify the Ghana national team to the next Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament and to guide the team to bring home the coveted title which has eluded the West African country for close to 4 decades.
