Discussions between the management of Kumasi Asante Kotoko and its players in relation to pay cuts have broken down with the players not buying the idea, Modernghana Sports can report.

The Ghana Premier League giants have proposed pay cuts to players to support management to survive the financial difficulties presented by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

At a meeting at the Secretariat of the club yesterday, Management of Asante Kotoko discussed a possible 40% and 30% pay cut on the salaries of the playing body but they were both rejected.

Players believe that they are going through hardships during these times and hence foregoing that percentage of their salaries will not help matters.

The meeting which had the General manager of the club, Nana Gyembibi Coker, Team manager, Ohene Brenya, as well as Felix Anan and Emmanuel Gyamfi from the side of the playing body could not be concluded and is expected to continue throughout the week.
