All the 18 Premier League Clubs are set to receive $5000 as stimulus packages from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to help them survive the economic hardships presented by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Ghana just like almost every country in the world has been hit by the deadly disease which has already infected more than 2.4 million people worldwide while also killing over 165,000 people.
In the West African country, there have been 1042 confirmed cases of the disease with a death toll of 9 as well as 99 recoveries.
As a precautionary measure against its spread, all football activities have been suspended which has led to the halting of the 2019/2020 season.
The blowback has seen clubs suffering financially with their main source of income [gate proceeds] blocked for a month now.
After weeks of crying for help, it looks like their answer has been answered by the Ghana Football Association. Reports according to Space FM has indicated that the FA has agreed to support all the top-flight clubs with $5000 from the StarTimes Media rights Sponsorship package.
According to the report, the football governing body has already started paying the money into the account of the clubs and they should receive it by close of Tuesday, April 21, 2020.
