2021 AFCON Qualifiers: Ghanas Clash Against Sudan To Be Played Behind Closed Doors
13.03.2020 LISTEN

Information reaching Modernghana Sports has indicated that Ghana’s clash against Sudan in the qualifiers to the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be played behind closed doors.

The Black Stars are billed to face the Falcons of Jediane in a double-header encounter in Group C of the qualifiers to the 2021 AFCON later this month.

With concerns over the rampant spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), our sources close to the Sports Ministry have revealed that there are plans for the first meeting between Ghana and Sudan in Cape Coast to be played in an empty stadium.

It is understood that the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture has asked the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to get in touch with CAF and keep them informed of the latest plans. Once the continent's football governing body gives their consent, the match will be played without spectators.

The Ghana-Sudan match has been scheduled to be played on March 27, 2020.
