A solitary strike from veteran striker Yahaya Mohammed has handed Aduana Stars a crucial 1-0 win against West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) in the Ghana Premier League today.

The defending champions of the domestic top-flight league were in action against the Academy Boys this afternoon when they played as visitors at the Sogakope Red Bull Arena.

At the end of a first-half that proved to be entertaining, neither club could find the back of the net even though a lot of good goal scoring opportunities were created.

A push from Aduana Stars in the second half did the trick for them as they took the lead on the 65th minute on the back of successive impressive team plays.

Forward Yahaya Mohammed who has been a livewire for the Dormaa-based club popped up and scored with a fine effort to inspire the side to a narrow 1-0 win at the end of the 90 minutes.

The important away win means that Aduana Stars gets to stay at the top of the Ghana Premier League standings but on the same points [27] with Medeama SC who occupies the 2nd position.
