Swimming GOC President Commends Ghana Swimming Association

The president of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah has commended the Ghana Swimming Association (GSA) and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the 7th African Swimming Championship being held at the Bukom International Pool in Accra.

Performing the opening ceremony of the championship which is an Olympic qualifying event, he hailed the splendid organization of the championship and performance of the swimmers.

He urged the Ghanaian swimmers to take advantage of home support to improve their times as they compete against experienced swimmers from Senegal and Nigeria.

He also praised SSNIT for putting up the emporium which can host many outdoor and indoor games like boxing, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, martial arts, weight lifting and others.

He called for strict maintenance of the facilities which can be used for the 2023 African Games in Ghana.

Present at the opening ceremony were board members of the Ghana Olympic Committee, the mayor of Accra, Hon Mohammed Adjei Sowah who is a swimming fan, Jerry Ahmed Shiab, director of Coastal Development Authority and Dr. Emmanuel Owusu Ansah special advisor to the sports minister.
