Tamale Sports Stadium to be completed by september

The over 20,000 capacity Sports Stadium under construction in Tamale will be completed by September, 2007.

The stadium, which forms part of the facilities that will enable Ghana to host the CAN 2008 will be handed over the the Govenment come October, 2007.

The contract which was awarded to Shangai Constructions has generated over 80 employment to the people of Tamale.

Mr. Mark Chen, the quantity surveyer to Shanghai Constructions made this know in an interview with highana.

According to Mr Chen, they have employed over 150 people of which over 80 are Ghanaians and the rest Chinese.

He continued that, the workers are very dedicated and punctual to work hence they will be able to meet the deadline, adding that, they work for 10 hours in a day.

Mr. Chen declared that, there was an initial problem of water and electricity but it has been solved, so work is moving on smoothly.
