FEB 9, 2020 LISTEN

Ghana Premier League giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko has picked up 3 important points on Match Week 9 of the ongoing 2019/2020 season after posting a 1-0 win over Dreams FC at the Theatre of Dreams this afternoon.

Coach Maxwell Konadu and his Porcupine Warriors went into today’s fixture on the back of two successive draws and in need of a win to give fans of the club a bit of confidence.

A hard-fought battle in the first half of the match at the Dawu Park ended goalless with Dreams going into the break with 10 men after Dentani Amadu was given the marching orders for receiving two yellow cards.

After recess, the Reds attacked from all cylinders in their quest to make good use of the man advantage in a bid to get on the scoresheet to ensure they run away with all 3 points.

On the 68th minute, the visitors finally got the breakthrough when Imoro Ibrahim's free-kick into the Dreams FC goal area was connected into the back of the net by Bashiru Abdul.

That own goal has been enough for Asante Kotoko to cruise to a win today ahead of their big meeting with Ashanti Gold next weekend.

As things stand now, the record league champions sit 5th on the Ghana Premier League standings but on the same points (17) as Berekum Chelsea who is top of the pile.
