Football Agent To Appear Before Court

A self-styled football agent, Sammy Ali is in police custody facing charges of issuing fake International Transfer Certificates for the transfer of four Ghanaian players. The reports indicate that Sammy Ali who represents Slovakian club Senej FC in Ghana aided the transfer of former Hearts of Oak attacker, Abdul Samad Okocha to another Austrian club FC Casino Brengez last year with an illegal ITC.

The agent also transferred three other players from Fetteh Feyenoord and Division one side Prestea Mine Stars two months ago without the consent of the Ghana football Association. Though the GFA is the body charged with the issuance of ITCS it claims it had no knowledge of the transactions. Sammy Ali who was arrested last Thursday makes a first appearance in court later this week.
