Head coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu has described teenage sensation Mathew Anim Cudjoe as a genius while indicating that the attacker is a national asset who will benefit Ghana in the future.

The 16-year-old has been outstanding for the Porcupine Warriors since the Ghana Premier League season started and continues to display his qualifies whenever he is handed playing time.

According to Coach Maxwell Konadu, Mathew Cudjoe’s brilliance is evident but he needs time to polish his qualities to ensure he reaches his full potential.

“He is a genius and we need to protect him. We know he is still growing and that is why we are not rushing him. We have to be patient with him and make sure we guide him and use him at the right time”, the experienced gaffer said.

Coach Maxwell Konadu adds, “We can throw him out there in the beginning but we don’t also want to take that risk. He is still young, we know he has too many years ahead of him and definitely Ghana will benefit from the qualities he has.

“So we only have to wait and see what happens. He needs to develop. He needs to develop a couple of things more and make him a complete player. So let’s give him time and that is what we are doing”.

Meanwhile, reports are indicating that youngster Mathew Cudjoe will be traveling outside of the country for a trial with Europeans giants Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and PSG.
