Head coach for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Maxwell Konadu has disclosed that the team will recruit defenders in the next transfer window to boost its squad in their quest to win the Ghana Premier League title.

The Porcupine Warriors currently sits 4th on the League standings after Match Week 6 of the ongoing 2019/2020 season where they have amassed a total of 12 points.

Yesterday, the Kumasi-based club visited the Accra Sports Stadium to honour a date with Hearts of Oak in a game dubbed the ‘Super Clash’. At the end of the encounter, the Reds emerged as 2-1 winners, scoring from the penalty spot in the dying minutes of the game to bag all 3 points.

In the post-match press conference after the match, Kotoko coach Maxwell Konadu admitted that his team doesn’t have the best of defenders in the league. In line with that, he has hinted that the club will sign defenders when the next transfer window opens.

“What I can say is that going forward we need to work more especially still in our defense. We all agree that we don’t have the best of defense in the league. But then we will manage till the first round ends”, the experienced tactician said.

He added, “The ones we have we will continue to work on them until we get it right. We will continue working hard”.

Meanwhile, the next transfer window of the Ghana Premier League season is expected to open in March.
