Executive Council member for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Randy Abbey has called for support for new Black Stars head coach C.K Akunnor to help him succeed.

The former Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak manager was named the head coach for Ghana’s male senior national team on Wednesday, replacing James Kwesi Appiah whose contract expired at the end of December 2019.

In an interview with Asempa FM earlier today, Randy Abbey has disclosed that every stakeholder must come on board to support the new man in charge of the Black Stars team.

“All of us have a responsibility to assist. We must find a way of all coming on board and helping. The FA itself and the coach and his team and all that will also have to open up and engage everybody and all that”, the Kpando Heart of Lions bankroller said.

He continued, “But I think the most important thing is that we don’t have an attitude of we are waiting to say I told you so. We should have the attitude of look, we have given him the job, he by himself cannot do the job. Once the decision has been taken, let’s all come on board and see how best we can help to make him succeed”.

CK Akunnor's immediate assignment will be to qualify Ghana to the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament which will be staged in Cameroon.
