Shafiu Mumuni, Two Others To Leave Ashanti Gold

Assistant head coach for Obuasi Ashanti Gold, Yakubu Sheriff Mambo has confirmed that Shafiu Mumuni, James Akaminko, and Latif Anabila will be leaving the club in the next couple of days.

The trio forms the core of the Ghana Premier League giant and has attracted interest from clubs outside the country.

At a post-match press conference on Wednesday when Ashgold drew goalless with Legon Cities FC, Coach Sheriff Mambo indicated that the three players are about to complete various transfers to foreign clubs.

“Very soon some of them will be leaving. Shafiu will be leaving immediately from here. He will be leaving, James will be leaving, Latif will be leaving. But all the same, we have prepared others also behind them”, the gaffer said.

“The preparation was that we were expecting some of them to leave and for that matter, we had others that are behind them.

“For the country, I cannot mention but they are leaving. That I can say”, coach Mambo concluded.
