William Amponsah of the University of Education at Winneba has broken records in the long-distance races at the 2020 GUSA Games going on at the University of Ghana, Legon.

The level 100 student clocked 29.53. 078mins. to clear UCC’s Malik Yakubu’s time of 32. 29.12mins. set in 2018 to become the new 10,000m GUSA Games champion.

The smallish long-distance runner known as ‘Bones’ made it two gold medals after shattering the 5,000m record also then held by Malik Yakubu.

The 20 years old native of Agona in the Central Region is pursuing a course in Physical Education.

He is currently one of the nation’s best marathon runners and has represented Ghana at international races.
