The National 14 and 16 under tennis players and assistant head coach Yahya Macauley have expressed gratitude to GTF President Isaac Aboagye Duah, his vice Kwame Djangba and the attire GTF board for the support extended to the team on their visit on Tuesday afternoon.

President Isaac Abogye Duah and vice Kwame Djangba with some board members visited the Ghana team this afternoon at Lomé, Togo

Coach Yhaya Macauley said the players are grateful for the visit and the message delivered by GTF President.

“The players and myself are working so hard to make it into the main AJC though we have gotten bad results, we appreciate the support from GTF president, vice and the executive board. We assure you that we will bring more medals to Ghana. Coach Macculey stressed on.

Speaking to ghanatennis.org GTF president said, “I am happy with the performance of our players so far, four in the quarterfinals, hope these four make it into the main AJC championship”.

The delegation later met with Mr. Amine Ben Makhlouf the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Development Officer for West and North Africa.

The highly successful meeting was aimed at introducing the newly elected Executive Board of (GTF) to the ITF Development Officer.

The meeting discussed issues such as opportunities for Ghana; national training centre, opportunities for coaches, developing a strong and positive relationship with stakeholders and how to create champions as the core mandate of the national federation.

Mr. Tagba Atafeitom Romain the President of the Fédération Togolaise de Tennis (FTT) later joined the meeting to discuss bilateral cooperation with Togo and the possibility of extending such cooperation to neighbouring countries.
