Ghana Premier League giant Accra Hearts of Oak has announced that they have parted ways with Kim Grant who has served as the club’s Director of Football and first team head coach in the past year.
A clubs statement on Tuesday evening said, “Accra Hearts of Oak and Director of Football Kim Grant have parted ways. Edward Nii Odoom takes over with immediate effect as the head coach”.
Coach Kim Grant has been under fire for the last three weeks with calls for his sack heightening after Hearts of Oak was beaten 2-1 by bitterest rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the 2019 President Cup.
The exit of the manager comes just two days after the Phobians lost 1-0 to Berekum Chelsea on the opening weekend of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
With Coach Edward Nii Odoom taking over from Kim Grant, management of Hearts of Oak has called for support to help him succeed.
“The club would like to ask for continuous support for Coach Odoom and we wish Coach Grant the very best in his future endeavours”, a post on the Phobians Twitter handle said.
