Head coach for Accra Hearts of Oak, Kim Grant has stressed that his players gave their all on Sunday afternoon when they suffered a 1-0 win against Berekum Chelsea on the opening weekend of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League.

The Phobians opened their campaign to the season with a home match against the Berekum-based side at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Tipped the favorite to bag all 3 points at the end of the day, Hearts of Oak was stunned by a strike from Jonah Attuquaye in the first half that eventually handed Berekum Chelsea its victory at the end of the 90 minutes.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, coach Kim Grant says he cannot fault his players because they gave their all to try and jet off to a good start in the Premier League.

“We totally dominated the game but its football. The guys [Berekum Chelsea] caught us on the break, he cut inside, shot and it took a deflection and it went in. We did everything we could”, the gaffer noted.

He added, “I can’t fault the guys, they did everything they could but that’s football and we have to move on to the next one and prepare for it”.

Next up, Hearts of Oak will play away to Medeama SC in a fixture that will obviously put pressure on Kim Grant if his side fails to get the better result.
