Kumasi Asante Kotoko is being tipped by pundits to win the upcoming 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors are set to go into the new season on the back of an impressive run in the Normalization Committee Special Competition as well as a continues appearance in the two inter-club competitions on the continent.
Last season, the team participated in Africa where they managed to get to the group stage of the CAF Confederations Cup.
They maintained their competitive edge at the end of that campaign and went on to win the tier 1 of the Normalization Committee Special Competition which earned them the right to feature in this season’s CAF Champions League.
Though their performance was not enough to see them achieve the same continental success as the last time, they still benefited from the competitiveness of the competition to expose their players.
Asante Kotoko currently boasts of one of the fit and quality teams on the local scene and will go into the Ghana Premier League as favorites, according to football pundits in the local media.
Having also secured the services of manager Maxwell Konadu, the odds look to be in favour of the Reds who are still looking to sign at least 3 players to add to the strength in depth of the team.
The new league is set to commence on the weekend of December 27-29, 2019, with Kotoko billed to host Techiman Eleven Wonders at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the opening match of the campaign.
