Football News Oti Akenteng Impressed With Turnout Of GFAs Coaching Workshop

The technical director for the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Oti Akenteng has shared that he was very impressed with the turnout at the coaching workshop organized for Premier, Division One, and Elite Women’s League coaches on Tuesday.

The country’s football governing body is bent on seeing in improvement in the quality of play in the upcoming domestic league competition and hence put together a workshop at its Secretariat in Accra yesterday to offer training to coaches from the various competitions.

Assessing the outcome of the program, Oti Akenteng who was in the thick of affairs during the workshop has stressed that it went very well. According to him, he was very excited about how proceedings went with a lot of coaches taking advantage of the training to learn from colleagues.

In an interview with Joy Sport, the GFA’s technical director shared. “I never even expected it will go this way. So nice and you saw the presence of even the national team coach Kwesi Appiah who gave a very good account of himself and everybody adored him”.

He added, “The number of coaches who also attended the program was very very encouraging. We did the team management, in fact how they should be able to manage themselves during the league. Some do’s and don’ts and then a few other things we discussed which basically have been worrying us.

“I think it has been wonderful. It has been very good and very encouraging. I don’t even know how to go about it but am so much motivated and very much encouraged”.

Meanwhile, the GFA has assured that they will be organizing similar workshops in the future to build the capacity of coaches in the country to develop the sports.
