Head coach for the Black Stars of Ghana, James Kwesi Appiah has called for more training workshops to be organized by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for Ghanaian coaches to build their capacity.

His appeal comes on the back of a workshop held at the GFA’s secretariat on Tuesday for Premier League, Division One League, and Elite Women’s League coaches ahead of the start of the 2019/2020 Domestic Season.

Coach Kwesi Appiah was one of many top coaches on the local scene who graced the workshop to interact with the various coaches who took advantage of the program.

Speaking to Joy Sports at the end of the workshop, the gaffer shared his delight and noted that it should be something that is done often to help improve the coaches in the country.

“It was great. This is something that I have always wished for because I think that once all the head coaches get involved with the discussions, I learn a lot from them and they also learn a lot from me”, the Black Stars coach indicated.

He continued, “It is something that is long overdue. We should be doing this most of the time. I am hoping that since we started now the management will have the technical directorate to make sure such seminars are done.

He further observed that for as many coaches to be present at the workshop, it is an indication that they are all ready for the start of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
