The tennis court at the 4 Garrison will be the centre of attraction for all tennis-loving patriots within Kumasi as the 2nd edition of the Junior Tennis Open Championship is expected to start from December 21 to 22,2019.

The tournament which is being held under the auspices of the Ashanti Regional Tennis Association and sponsored by Coach Albert’s Tennis Academy, Virginia with support from 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club.

The former tennis star Albert Asiedu Ofei for the past 6 years have been single-handedly donating tennis equipment to junior tennis players within Accra and Kumasi.

Speaking to ghanatennis.org the former national junior champion before earning a tennis scholarship to play Division 1 tennis in the states Asiedu-Ofei said, "my desire to take tennis to the next level will come to nought if we don’t start with the kids. We chose the date with their vacation in mind to engage them to make good use of their holidays"

According to coach Albert Asiedu-Ofei, the draws for the championship will be held on Friday 20th December 2019 ahead of the opening round of Matches the following day, the competition will be played in several age categories including boys and girls U-12, U-14, U-16.

Mr. Asiedu- Ofei added that the launch will be provided and as well a lot of prizes at stake for the youngsters.
