Football News REPORT: Kjetil Zachariassen Interested In Berekum Chelsea Coaching Job
DEC 3, 2019 LISTEN

Information reaching Modernghana Sports indicates that former Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach Kjetil Zachariassen is interested in returning to Ghana to manage Berekum Chelsea.

The Norwegian tactician was poached from Obuasi Ashanti Gold earlier this year to coach their Regional rivals prior to their campaign in the CAF Champions League.

Having been tasked to guide the Porcupine Warriors to the group stage of the competition, the gaffer failed as his team was booted out by Tunisian giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel.

After dropping into the final play-of round of the CAF Confederations Cup, the management and supporters of Kotoko were hoping coach Kjetil Zachariassen could send the team to the money zone.

He disappointingly failed that test as well and was subsequently sacked after fans piled pressure on management to release him of his duties on grounds of poor performance.

According to reports being picked up, the gaffer wants to prove that he has the quality to succeed in the country and is interested in taking up the job as the head coach of Berekum Chelsea before the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season starts.

It is unclear whether the club will consider him for the role or will want to stick to an indigenous coach.
