Accra, March 23, GNA - The Professional League Board (PLB) would meet all the 16 Premiership Clubs on Tuesday, March 28 to discuss the proposed Knock-Out competition. Mr. Abrah-Appiah, Chairman of the (PLB) told the GNA Sports that the meeting which is billed for the Ghana Football Association's (GFA) secretariat would also deliberate on other relevant issues. The suggestion to organize a Knock-out tourney involving all the 16 Premiership Clubs, as well as the inclusion of relegated Ebusua Dwarfs and Kade Hotspurs in the absence of the Premier League has come up strongly lately.

Ghana can only organize this year's league after the World Cup event in Germany which spans from June 9 to July 9. The World Soccer controlling body, FIFA earlier in the year directed all qualified countries to end their league by May to enable the teams gain enough preparation for the quadrennial event. The Chairman has been clamouring for the reshaping of Ghana's Premiership to conform to that of the European league system. He is also convinced that the proposed tourney if initiated would lessen the huge financial burdens that confront the Clubs and would help keep them in shape as well.
