Supporters and youth of Nkronaza commended for disciplined behaviour

Nkoranza (B/A) March 22 (Credit Adu Simon) GNA - The Chairman of the Brong Ahafo Regional Football Association has commended the youth and sports activists of Nkoranza for their disciplined behaviour during the Zone One sub-League tournament at Nkoranza. The Clubs that participated in the competition included Okatakyie Stars of Nkoranza, Jinata Stars of Kajebi, Destroyers of Kintampo and Nkomi Stars also of Kajebi.

Mr Augustine Asante, the chairman said he was impressed with the elaborate preparations made by the District Chief Executive, Mr James Kwabena Appiah-Awuah and his able lieutenants as well as the people of the area towards the success of the programme. He therefore deplored the attitude of some youth in other areas who attack referees during such competitions and called for a halt of such behaviours.

Mr Asante commended Assistant Superintendent of Police in-charge of Nkoranza, Mr Simon Afenyadu for the able manner in which he and his men managed the security situation to ensure the success of the competition. The all-play-all event saw Okatakyie Stars beat Jinata Stars by two goals to one while Kintampo Destroyers also disposed of Nkomi Stars of Kajebi 2-1 in the first and second matches.

Nkomi Stars beat Jinata Stars by two goals to one while Kintampo Destroyers and Okatakyie Stars fought to a pulsating goalless drawn Game. Nkomi Stars drew one all with Okatakyie Stars while Kintampo Stars and Jinata Stars also drew one all in the final match. Okatakyie Stars and Destroyers have therefore qualified to compete in the Regional Middle League competition.
