Veteran Ghanaian forward, Asamoah Gyan marked his return from injury earlier this afternoon with a goal to help his NorthEast United avoid defeat as they drew 2-2 with Mumbai FC.

The two top clubs locked horns at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium after the recent international break in a match week 5 fixture of the ongoing 2019/2020 season of the Indian Super League.

NorthEast United who played as the home team started the game very well and took a deserved lead on the 9th-minute courtesy a strike from Panagiotis Triadis.

After regrouping and going on several attacking runs, Mumbai FC level the score through Amine Chermiti on the 22nd minute.

Ten minutes after that strike, the forward was at it again and netted his second of the day to shoot them into the lead for the first time in the match.

Now chasing the game and in need of a goal, Asamoah Gyan who recently shook off an injury popped up on the 42nd minute to restore parity for his NorthEast United side.

Despite a pulsating encounter in the second half, neither club could find the back of the net as the match eventually ended two-all.

Gyan who now has four goals in the ongoing season lasted the entire duration of the match while excelling throughout the game.
