Goalkeeper for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Felix Annan has sustained an ankle injury and could miss the club’s opening match in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.

According to reports, the safest pair of hands for the Porcupine Warriors who has been touted as the best goalkeeper on the local scene suffered the injury during the team’s training session at the Adako Jachie training facility earlier this week.

The Black Stars back up goalies has been ruled out of training for the rest of the week and has been scheduled for further tests tomorrow.

It is understood that he could spend about a month on the sidelines to receive treatment before returning to full fitness.

With the Ghana Premier League expected to kick off on the weekend of December 27-29, Felix Annan may probably not recover in time and is feared he might miss the opening match of the season.

The 25-year-old will likely be replaced by second choice goalkeeper Kwame Baah if he is not able to shake off the ankle injury.
